First edition, one of 500 numbered copies on Holland paper, our copy unnumbered, the only printing after 20 copies on antique paper and 5 hors commerce. The first volume contains the essay on Giovanni Battista Bracelli by Tristan Tzara, followed by "The adventure of a book and bibliographical notes" by the publisher Alain Brieux. The second volume is the facsimile reproduction of Bracelli's book, "Bizzarie", illustrated with 50 engravings created in 1624. The facsimile was printed from the only complete and known copy, that of the American bibliophile Mr. Lessing Rosenwald. This illustrated volume is bound in full boards imitating medieval vellum with laces (one of which is creased). Chemise and slipcase in full brown boards, smooth unlettered spines, title label pasted on the slipcase. Handsome copy.
