Dominique Aury is not only the secret author of the scandalous Histoire d'O published under the pseudonym Pauline Réage. She is above all, since 1953, the influential secretary general of the NRF alongside Jean Paulhan and Marcel Arland and one of the principal readers on the Reading Committee of Editions Gallimard.
