All CollectionsWith 9 original lithographs by Maximilen Luce, one of 10 numbered copies on vergé de Hollande and justified by the illustrator, the tirage de tête.
This copy retains its suite on Japon ancien paper. Three miniscule lacks to edges of upper cover.
These are portraits of friends in prison, of which three are of the “eminence grise of symbolism,” the anarchist journalist and art critic Félix Fénéon. Maximilien Luce (1858-1941) was himself imprisoned at Mazas. The former engraver never stopped vigorously asserting his Socialistic ideas in his work, as well as his sympathy for the anarchist movement.
A good and rare copy.
