Bound in half red shagreen, spine set with double gilt fillets, decorated with double cold-boxes and gilt stippling, double gilt fillets at head and tail, marbled paper boards, vat paper endpapers and back covers, speckled edges.
Autograph address signed by Victor Hugo at the head of the title page of the first volume: "... to my excellent friend Léon Masson...".
Le Roi s'amuse is complete with frontispiece by Tony Johannot printed on Chine paper.
A few small brown spots, a pleasant copy.
