First edition of the French translation of the current paper, false entry of the eleventh edition. Binding to bradel open cardboard way vellum, smooth spine, guards and contreplats green paper covers and spine preserved, gilded head, contemporary binding. Very rare autograph dedication signed and dated by the author Jacqueline and Francis Sommer: "... this imperfect book, written in youth and Acknowledged on 01/07/57 from Ernest Hemingway Their friend Paris from 1924 to 1957..." François Sommer was an industrialist and a French resistance, he was also a great hunter very invested in hunting legislation. It certainly met Hemingway on safari in Africa in the 1930s, they were both fond of leisure. Ernest Hemingway also prefaced a book by Francis Sommer, Hunting and game in Africa, published in 1951. Precious sending the author on the French translation of one of his most important works.
