First edition, one of 110 numbered copies on Arches wove deluxe paper, the deluxe issue.
A blue ballpoint pen mark to the upper cover, spine and boards slightly and partially sunned, as often encountered.
Uncut copy, illustrated.
A typed letter of thanks from Pierre Clostermann, signed by him and addressed to Henri Torrès, has been mounted to the left margin of the half-title page.
This copy is further enriched with two original watercolours depicting two R.A.F. bomber aircraft flown by Pierre Clostermann: the Vickers-Armstrong "Wellington" and the Bristol Beaufort.
We attribute these two signed watercolours to Paul Lengellé, official painter to the French Air Ministry, who designed the dust jacket for the trade issue of this work, although the signature appearing on the jacket differs from those found on our two watercolours.
