Ingénieur. Administrateur de la Société des avions Marcel-Dassault-Breguet aviation (en1990). Homme politique. Aviateur français qui s'est distingué au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Surnommé « Premier chasseur de France »1, il est fait Compagnon de la Libération avant de devenir un homme politique, un écrivain et un industriel français. Pierre Henri Clostermann est fils d'un diplomate d'origine alsacienne et lorraine en poste au Brésil où il croise Jean Mermoz et Henri Guillaumet, alors pilotes de l'aéropostale. Il passe son brevet de pilote privé en 1937, puis entre au California Institute of Technology2 pour préparer un diplôme d'ingénieur aéronautique et son brevet de pilote de ligne.

    A blue ballpoint pen mark to the upper cover, spine and boards lightly and partially sunned, as is often the case.
    Untrimmed copy with wide margins, illustrated throughout.
    A typed letter of thanks from Pierre Clostermann, signed by him and addressed to Henri Torrès, bound to the left margin of the half-title page.
