    Half green shagreen binding, spine with four raised bands decorated with blind-tooled compartments with gilt fleurons at their centers, gilt dates, marbled paper boards, marbled endpavers and pastedowns.
    The first work, in two volumes, is illustrated with 72 plates, the second, in one volume, with 72 plates.

    First edition illustrated with a frontispiece and 159 plates drawn and engraved by the author, all numbered.
    Contemporary half brown sheep binding. Smooth spine decorated with fillets, rubbed and scuffed. 2 holes at foot. Uncut copy, the leaves having slightly different dimensions. Some plates browner. Occasional light foxing. A dampstain in the middle of the upper margin on the first 12 leaves, fading.
    Projects executed between 1828 and 1845 by architects of the period (Visconti, Dubois, Morey, Durand...). Each construction comprises about 4 plates of plans and sections. Farms, Houses, Schools, kiosks, chalets, cottages... One can distinguish a clear tendency toward historicism and exoticism with numerous borrowings, moreover very diverse.

    First edition illustrated with a frontispiece and 159 plates drawn and engraved by Normand fils. A second part containing, in addition to the house, public buildings, would appear in 1843, then a third part in 1849 on country houses and rural constructions. A collective edition from Liège in 1849 would include these three parts, but a fourth part on interior and exterior decorations of buildings would be published in 1853. This first volume bears no indication on the title page of volume numbering or part, because undoubtedly at the time it was published, the volumes to come were not yet planned or decided upon.
    Contemporary half brown sheep binding. Smooth spine decorated with fillets. Spine rubbed and worn. Uncut paper. Some spotting in lower margin and at lower right corner.
    Interesting publication tracing civil architecture under the Restoration, the buildings and houses having all been constructed between 1816 and 1834. Each construction benefits from several plates (sections, plans...)

    The hall was built according to Frissard's plans. Numerous pages concerning all trades relating to the general state of expenses. Testament to civil architecture under Charles X.

      First edition, illustrated with 50 magnificent portraits engraved with burin by Ceroni in medallions. Each portrait is accompanied by a biographical notice of approximately 12 pages, written by different authors. Deluxe publication.
      Full red morocco bindings of the period signed Amand. Raised bands spine finely and richly decorated with roses and interlacing. Gilt titles and volume labels. Boards decorated in the Du Seuil style with central frame and triple gilt fillet border, corner ornaments in the corners. Wide interior frieze. Gilt edges. Light rubbing on some bands, at headcaps. Upper joint of volume I cracked at head and tail. Some traces of rubbing on the upper board of volume II. Very fresh copy, with some occasional worming and leaves slightly more yellowed.
      Splendid binding perfectly executed in morocco.
      He who was nicknamed "the Raphael of painting on enamel" created in the 17th century a series of portraits of great figures of the time of Louis XIV (Richelieu, Mme de Montbazon, Turenne, La Rochefoucauld, Ninon de l'Enclos, Colbert, Mme de Sevigne, M le Comte de Grignan, Mme Scarron, la Duchesse de Portsmouth), with incomparable perfection. These portraits were exhibited at the Imperial Museum of the Louvre and gave birth to this work.

      Rare first edition consisting of an allegorical title engraved with Napoleon's arms and 59 steel-engraved plates by Boizot, Beauvallet, Vallois after drawings by Bralle. All the engravings are executed with great finesse and present a scale and aerial view at the bottom of each plate. The work would later appear under another title in 1812, without mention of Napoleon, with descriptive text by Amaury Duval: Les fontaines de Paris, anciennes et nouvelles. In later editions, the illustration would be expanded, notably in 1828.
      19th-century half black shagreen binding with corners, marbled paper boards, all edges speckled, tail headcap worn and corners very lightly rubbed.
      Some scattered foxing on title and endpapers.

      A good and fresh copy.
      The work puts together on two pages an extract from a literary work and its interpretation by Smids, as well as an illustration of a mythological scene by Schoonebeek (Alcestis, Hercules, Medea, Oedipus, etc...). The latter was a student of Romain de Hooghe, whose influence is clearly visible.
      This work is a magnificent example of the baroque illustrated book, alongside the La Fontaine of Romain de Hooghe.
