George Sand sends this letter to Buloz. His correspondent is the director and founder of La Revue des Deux Mondes . This review focuses on political life by relating French politics to foreign policy. Literature nevertheless has a major place, Merimee, Vigny, Baudelaire, Dumas, and Sand, to name but a few, write there. George Sand has been linked to the magazine and to François Buloz since 1832, when he signs a contract which provides him with an annual annuity in exchange for the regular writing of about thirty pages for the monthly. It is also a question of a autograph dedication of the author of pages: "nothing that I had started for you being ready, I decided to send you a kind of proverb that we were repeating on our Nohant theater and that seemed nice to our actors. "
This intimate theater, installed in 1849, punctuated the life of Nohant's guests, who were both designers, actors and spectators of this great theatrical experiment. George Sand writes precisely in the letter that Alexandre Dumas son is staying at Nohant and that he also writes for the theater: " [he] has made us three charming scenes which are repeated at this moment. nice to publish them in the magazine and it's a name " . The play in question was called Marguerite de Val-Beaugé and the characters were played by the members of the family.
