Autograph letter signed by Judith Gautier addressed to Céleste Chrétien, her housekeeper. Two pages written in black ink on a double sheet. Transverse folds inherent to mailing.
Judith Gautier is recovering from a bad flu: "The flu that I had first and Suzanne after me, has delayed our journey until the end of this month. I went out for the first time in three weeks, today, it takes very long to recover." From Dinard, Céleste sews for Judith, tends to the garden and supervises the renovation work at Pré aux oiseaux: "The coat arrived safely and the flowers gave us great pleasure, all the camellias opened in the water! We would like a small sketch of the staircase to get a clear idea before we decide. Send it as soon as possible."
