Pierre Benoit informs in this letter his friend of his departure for Rio de Janeiro which he will return on May 5th. He writes to him that he will come back to him to tell him about his novel to be published, Les Agriates. He enjoined his interlocutor to contact his predecessor at the French Academy, André Chaumeix, whom he described as "great scholar", whose Paris address he communicated at the end of the letter.
