New edition, illustrated with 144 figures including 4 frontispieces, most of them folding. Title pages in red and black. Copy with ermines, heraldic device of a branch of the Rohan family. The Rohan de Strasbourg or the Rohan Chabot had their books bound in full blonde calf with lozenges and ermines. Full blonde calf binding, speckled and glazed. Spine with raised bands decorated with ermines. Red morocco title label, brown morocco volume label. Restorations to headcaps and joints of volumes I, II. Headcap of volume IV worn. Corners slightly bumped. Traces of rubbing. Fresh overall. Famous edition whose description then included Belgium, the duchy of Luxembourg, Holland and the part of the Netherlands that became French in the Arras region.
