The only early edition bringing together the theatrical and narrative works. As indicated by Tchemerzine (VII, 437-438), the 1825-1830 edition is less complete, only one other text by Marivaux not included in this edition will be published as supplement, in 1922: La Provinciale; moreover, the 1825 edition does not reproduce all the works contained in the 12th volume. This edition brings together rare fictional works: Les Effets surprenants de la sympathie, Le Spectateur françois, L'Indigent philosophe, Le Cabinet du philosophe, Homère travesti, Le Don Quichotte moderne, L'Éducation d'un prince, Le Miroir, La Voiture embourbée, Le Télémaque travesti... The edition brings together 51 texts by the author, including the entirety of his theatrical works.
