Epistolary novel in which a young girl destined for retreat finds herself married against all expectations. The narrative encounters numerous intrigues and twists. This is a moral and educational work in which the author, through the character of Madame Du Montier, addresses the education of girls. Pedagogy held a significant place in the work of Madame Le Prince de Beaumont, who was a governess and author of numerous children's literature works including her famous tales.
