Elzevirian first edition produced by Isaac Vossius, at the age of 18. With allegorical title-frontispiece Full red morocco contemporary binding. Raised-band spine richly decorated. Red morocco title-label. Triple gilt ruled frame on covers. Headcaps very finely restored. Endpapers renewed with mid-19th century paper. All edges gilt. Small marginal worming. A very handsome copy. The work of Trogus Pompeius is known to us only through the famous abridgment by Justin of his Philippic Histories, which deals with all the countries conquered by Alexander the Great. At the end, 36 pages of notes by Isaac Vossius.
