Thus, Camus addressed Mouloud Feraoun in the wake of his Nobel Prize in Literature, in an unpublished correspondence between the two writers. Le Feu Follet takes the opportunity of Annie Ernaux's Nobel Prize in Literature to celebrate this new recognition of French literature, sharing this story of a unique friendship and honoring the laureates of this Nobel, including the sixteen French recipients, the country with the most awards.

This week, Le Feu Follet presents its investigation into one of these moments captured in the heat of the moment: the young Picasso discovering Pompeii through the complicit lens of Jean Cocteau.

On 16 April 1917, Picasso visited Pompeii with Jean Cocteau and Léonide Massine to prepare the ballet Parade, the first work described as "sur-realist" by Guillaume Apollinaire, created for the upcoming season of Serge Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes. This initiatory journey inspired, upon his return, a monumental painting: the stage curtain for Parade, a true visual signature of the ballet that marked the beginning of Picasso’s neoclassical period and is now held at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou.
