First edition of this work magnificently illustrated with a color title-frontispiece, a color back cover and 150 watercolors by Charles Lallemand engraved by Michelet. Deluxe paper printing, strong laid paper. The watercolors were made in situ by the author.
Sky blue beveled publisher's boards. Smooth spine decorated with a crescent and star, with roulettes and a Tunisian in color in picturesque attire. Gilt edges. On the upper board the title and the Tunisian flag. Plate signed Lenègre & cie. Soiling on the first board. Spine has become slightly turquoise. Headcaps slightly depressed. Traces of rubbing. Perfect freshness of the paper.
