A scratch on one joint of the first volume which also has two stains on the bottom edge.

Autograph inscription dated and signed by Jean Lacouture on each volume, to Bernard Kouchner: "Pour Bernard Kouchner qui en sait un bout en matière de rebelle" (For Bernard Kouchner who knows a thing or two about rebels), "Pour Bernard Kouchner qui préfère les hommes aux "héros" mais s'intéresse aux montagnes..."
