First edition, rare. Fictitious statement of second edition. On the half-title: Publications de la Revue des deux mondes. The review had published the novel in serial form in 1833.
Contemporary half glazed black calf binding. Spine handsomely decorated with rococo tools. Gilt title and volume number. Some rubbing to edges. Scattered foxing, but fine copy, in a quality binding.
Sentimental epistolary novel. This is the author's third novel and the first to bear the masculine pen name Georges Sand.
