Publisher's wraparound band included: "L'étoile des mers was broadcast in 1939 by Radio Tour-Eiffel, Limoges P.T.T., Rennes-Bretagne, Toulouse-Pyrénées, Radio-Alger then taken up by the Swiss stations Sottens in 1940 and Béromunster in 1941." Enlisted in the Resistance with the Francs-Tireurs Partisans, the poet Roger Richard was arrested at his home on November 23, 1943 by officers from the Parisian General Intelligence who handed him over to the Germans. He was executed by firing squad, along with some twenty other FTP members from the Paris region, at Mont Valérien on April 11, 1944.
