Half navy blue shagreen binding with corners, spine with four raised bands set with gilt garlands decorated with gilt typographical motifs, gilt friezes at head and foot, frame of double gilt fillets on marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, front cover preserved, bookplate pasted on a pastedown, soft slipcase in full marbled paper with small marginal rubbing.
Our copy is enhanced with two original drawings by Marius Renard corresponding to the illustrations on pages 110 and 261, the drawings are mounted on blue-grey cardboard sheets.
