Full Jansenist burgundy morocco binding, spine with four raised bands, triple gilt fillet frames on endpapers, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, original faded covers and spine preserved, all edges gilt, elegant binding signed Georges Cretté.
Autograph inscription signed by Jean Moréas to composer and music teacher Gaston Vallin.
Provenance: libraries of Raoul Simonson and Jean Lebrun with their bookplates pasted to verso of front board.
