Handsome copy despite two slight tears to the lower headcap and at the head of the first board which also has a small discoloration stain at the foot.
Half burgundy shagreen bindings, spines slightly faded with five raised bands decorated with gilt fleurons and blind double compartments, marbled paper boards, endpapers and pastedowns of marbled paper marginally soiled, contemporary bindings.
Some minor foxing without significance affecting mainly the edges, upper headcap of the first volume lightly rubbed.
