First edition of the Portuguese translation and first Brazilian edition.
Full red cloth binding, spine with four raised bands decorated with fleurons, dotwork and gilt fillets, gilt dentelle at head and foot, covers richly decorated with triple gilt compartments, with a central lozenge with hatched borders surrounded by a garland, black morocco inlays, gilt rolls framing the pastedowns and on the leading edges, edges gilt, endpapers and pastedowns of moiré paper, publisher's binding, binder's label pasted.
Minimal traces of rubbing, occasional light foxing, otherwise a handsome and well-established copy.
