First edition, one of 30 copies printed on China paper, the only deluxe copies.
Full chocolate-brown morocco binding, spine with five raised bands ruled in black, date gilt at foot, gilt rolls on the caps, moiré red silk endpapers and pastedowns framed with gilt dentelle, double gilt fillets on the edges, original wrappers preserved, top edge gilt, other edges uncut. A blind-stamped ex-libris mounted on a flyleaf bears a handwritten date annotation; a bookseller’s descriptive label affixed at the head of the rear flyleaf. Contemporary binding signed Dervois. Joints very skillfully restored at the head of the upper board.
