A novel of social outcasts and disillusionment, Pylon occupies a distinctive place in Faulkner's oeuvre. It was adapted for the screen by director Douglas Sirk as The Tarnished Angels (released in France as La Ronde de l'aube), starring Rock Hudson and Dorothy Malone.
