Lettre autographe signée à madame Daudet à propos de la disparition d'un ami

Autograph letter signed by Mathilde Bonaparte known as Princess Mathilde, daughter of Jérôme Bonaparte and his second wife Catherine of Württemberg, (15 lines in black ink).
Fold marks inherent to postal delivery. Princess Mathilde's cipher stamped blind at the head of the letter. Two stains in right and upper margins not touching the text.
Mathilde Bonaparte is inconsolable: "Je suis touchée de votre sympathie : j'ai perdu un ami incomparable..." (I am touched by your sympathy: I have lost an incomparable friend...) and thanks Julia Daudet for the attention she pays to her grief: "Recevez ainsi que monsieur Daudet l'expression de tous mes sentiments dévoués et reconnaisants." (Please accept, as does Monsieur Daudet, the expression of all my devoted and grateful sentiments.)
