First edition. An engraved title with vignette representing the town hall of Paris, and 4 views as plates: Calais, Ghent, Rome and Saragossa.
Contemporary full old red morocco binding with slipcase. Slipcase with spine decorated with 4 blind tooled stamps and fillets, blind ruled frame on boards and fillet. Volume with smooth spine decorated with romantic tools lengthwise, blind ruled frame on boards doubled with a fillet. Edges gilt. A small black stain in corner. Trace of rubbing to slipcase. Browning on title. Trace of brown dampstain at lower corner extending onto text on the first 10 leaves. Despite these interior defects, very handsome copy.
