The letter also reveals the writer's passion for dramaturgy, notably through the mention of Gustave Quinson, then director of the Palais-Royal theatre. "Voulez-vous être tout à fait gentil ? Envoyez-moi d'abord votre livret que je suis si curieux de connaître..." [Would you be so kind? First send me your libretto which I am so curious to know...]
