Very rare original albumen photograph in carte-de-visite format and medallion, mounted on yellow cardboard with red edges.
We have found no other copy of this photograph in international public collections.
Although undated, this photograph would have left J. Thierry's studio on June 12, 1869, as indicated in the Bibliographie de la France: "June 12, 1869, no. 779 -- Hervé. -- Michel Masson. -- Florian Pharaon. -- Jules Vallès. -- H. Daumier. -- Mme Montaubry. Paris, phot. {J. Thierry}. PORTRAITS -- CARTES". J. Thierry and A. Thierry actually designating the same person or, at least, the same studio.
