Original drawing executed in several colored pencils consisting of a rebus whose meaning his friend Carlo Rim must discover. The end of the rebus concluding with a self-portrait of Henry-Paul Gassier serving as a signature. The drawing, on letterhead from his Marseille address, includes at the bottom the solution to the previous rebus that Henry-Paul Gassier had previously sent him: "Solution du rébus précédent (presque trouvé par Carlo Rim - qui a droit à la note de 8 sur 10)..." ["Solution to the previous rebus (almost solved by Carlo Rim - who deserves a grade of 8 out of 10)..."] Folds inherent to mailing, small tears without loss to the right margin of the sheet. Provenance: from the Carlo Rim collection, friend of Henry-Paul Gassier, who was a Provençal writer notably author of "Ma belle Marseille", a caricaturist, a filmmaker and was notably the friend of Fernandel, Raimu and Marcel Pagnol but also of Max Jacob and André Salmon whom he met in Sanary.
