Edition decorated with a title-frontispiece signed Pitau, which contains as title only Via verita et vita with in the pediment a verse extracted from the Gospel according to Saint John, the title in a book designated by Christ and held by cherubim. Address in the lower banner: Typis Frederici Leonard. Parisiis. 1697. A folding plate containing several maps including the Holy Land, Jerusalem... Armorial copy of Pierre Francis de Lastre, with three escutcheons, 2 azure and one gold. Full brown morocco binding of the 18th century. Jansenist raised-band spine. Boards stamped with arms in blind with armorial cornerpieces. All edges gilt. Upper joint partly cracked with very slight lacks. Very handsome copy in brown morocco with arms. The New Testament reproduces the official text of Sixtus V and Clement VIII.
