New edition considerably expanded, decorated with a frontispiece by Natoire, engraved by L. Cars, 1 fleuron on the title page by Cochin fils, 7 vignettes and 15 tailpieces, of which there are only three different ones, by Bouché and Natoire, engraved by Cochin, and 3 ornamental letters. Fine contemporary binding in full speckled brown calf, spine with five raised bands decorated with gilt compartments and fleurons as well as a red morocco title label, gilt roll borders framing the boards and on the edges, gilt dentelle framing the pastedowns, all edges speckled green. Joints very lightly rubbed, four corners bumped. Small dark angular dampstain on four leaves, final leaves yellowed. Handsome full-margined copy preserved in an elegant binding. The text is set within a beautiful red border and printed on deluxe paper, with careful typography. From the library of M. Lesage.
