Full marbled brown sheep bindings, spines with six raised bands framed by gilt fillets and compartments richly decorated with gilt floral motifs, red morocco title labels, green morocco volume labels, blind fillets on the board edges, red edges; contemporary bindings.
Tiny wormholes at the joints and in the margins of the boards, restorations to the spines and joints, surface scuffing to the boards; the upper portion of the second volume further presents a few small stains and browning.
Foxing, browning, and dampstaining throughout both volumes, the latter more pronounced in the second.
In volume 1, in the Titres, a small hole in the margin of p. 19, the fold of the second plate split open; in the Premier discours, staining lightly affecting pp. 150 and 193, marginal repairs to pp. 5 and 25, worm galleries at the lower right-hand corner at the end of the volume.
