    The Marquis de Bièvre (1747-1789) was an accomplished courtier and an original character, famous for his skill in handling puns and satirical and deadly repartees in the salons (he wrote this term, Kalembourg, in the Encyclopédie). His play Le séducteur was constantly reissued until after the Empire. He also wrote Vercingétorix, tragedy in one act and one verse, where everything was propitious for wordplay.
