Half raspberry shagreen bindings, somewhat worn, smooth spines lightly faded decorated with gilt double compartments enhanced with gilt decorative motifs, brown sheep title and volume labels, headcaps rubbed, joints showing traces of rubbing, marbled paper boards, a tear at head of first board of third volume, some corners with minor rubbing, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, contemporary bindings. Copy with occasional foxing. Provenances: libraries of E. Alby and M. Privat with their bookplates pasted to verso of first boards of all three volumes.
First edition on ordinary paper. Precious inscription from Edouard Krakowski to Philippe Soupault. About the poets of the Spring of Nations in Poland, iconography. Two small lacks at head and foot of spine, slight marginal tears to boards.

First edition, of which there were no deluxe copies. Work illustrated with 56 drawings. A slight lack at head of spine, two other marginal ones affecting the first cover, a marginal dampstain affecting the last leaves.
