Contemporary half red shagreen binding. Spine with false raised bands handsomely decorated. Head and tail rolls. Corners slightly rubbed, one turned in. Some pale foxing on half-titles and indexes. Tinted paper for Paris marié, white for Paris au bal. Good copy.

English publisher's binding. Full midnight blue shagreen. Smooth spine richly decorated. Boards decorated with a broad frieze and corner ornaments, as well as a central design within which stands a lion passant. A tear to the upper joint at the headcap. Very good condition, some very occasional scattered foxing. Joints lightly rubbed, with a slight tear to the lower joint. Very handsome English binding, refined and richly decorated.

Complete series of 28 original hand-colored lithograph plates, all heightened with gum-arabic, captioned and numbered ; 20 plates of Le Carnaval à Paris and 8 plates of Les Bals masqués. Includes the 8 leaves of advertisments bound at rear.
Discreet repairs and foxing on some plates.

Contemporary binding in half brown shagreen, spine lightly faded. Upper corners lightly damaged, margins and spine ends a little rubbed.
Some discreet foxing mainly on the first board. A worm hole filled with a piece of paper on the lower margin of the twenty-first print. Plate 38 is little shorter than the others on the external...

Clichy
Full set of 21 original lithographs enhanced by hand with colour and varnish, all in first printing and second state. These engravings were initially published in Le Charivari with the exception of the nineteenth which was produced for La Caricature.

The engravings, all mounted on guards, are preceded by a yellow cover with some marks and indicating “Clichy – Album parGavarni”.
