Binding half morocco red with corners, flat spine decorated with gilt and two mosaiced parts marine morocco cartridges, golden tail dates framing double gilt fillets on marbled paper plates, guards and contreplats of handmade paper, fragile parchment wrappers preserved and bound in, gilded head. Late autograph signed Valere Gille: "A Henri Leclercq bibliographic sympathy ..." Ex-dono in pen on the first flat cover, a shadow on the half-title page. Nice copy pleasantly established.

A little insignificant spotting. A rare copy of the second volume of Les Rougon-Macquart in a handsome pastiche binding.
