Complete autograph manuscript signed by Émile Zola entitled “Profils parisiens – Les Repoussoirs”, 18 pages written in black ink on mounted 18 lined leaves. Many crossing-outs and corrections. This text had been published for the first time on 15 March 1866 in Marseille in the magazine La Voie nouvelle and was then published – with three others that make up the Esquisses parisiennes [Parisian Sketches]– following the novel Le Vœu d'une morte [A Dead Woman's Wish], published with Achille Faure in November 1866.

Binding in half blue-grey percaline, spine decorated with a gilt fleuron in the centre and a double gilt filet at the bottom, brown shagreen title piece, discreet restorations on the joints, contemporary binding.

First edition of this anti-Dreyfusard moving caricature printed on cardboard entitled "Zola dans la mé...lasse !" by P. Dous Y'Nell. A paper fastener is used to activate the mechanism of a soldier's arm, wearing red trousers and a red kepi, plunging the writer into a barrel labelled “vidange” “sewage”. This caricature, although printed with 30,000 copies by Léon Hayard - the king of the camelots - is today extremely rare.

The first edition of this rare collection, almost complete and comprising 416 issues of four pages, each illustrated with a color caricature and sometimes illustrations to text. A ninth volume appeared in 1899.
Contemporary half red shagreen over marbled paper boards, spine in six compartments, titles and volume numbers in gold, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, title page preserved in each volume.
Spines uniformly faded, a little spotting and occasional browning. No. 136 slightly shaved by binder and first page of No. 74 restore

First edition, one of 20 numbered copies on Holland, only large papers after 10 Japan.
Binding in half red morocco, spine in five compartments set with blind tooled fillets, gilt date at the foot, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers, wrappers (a tiny piece missing from the margin of the second board) and spine preserved, top edge gilt, binding signed Patrice Goy.

We have found only one other copy of this youthful photograph, in the National Portrait Gallery of London.

First edition of this anti-Dreyfusard tract, published after “J'accuse”. This virulent pamphlet takes the macabre form of a death notice, with a black border as was usual at the time, calling on its readers to “come to the procession, service, and funeral of this pornographer and defender of the traitor Dreyfus”.
Nicknamed the “king of the street pedlars”, the publisher Léon Hayard specialized in political pamphlets and more specifically satirical obituaries and wills.
Two copies in the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, one in the Musée Carnavalet and one in the Britis

Personal copy of the editor of the magazine, Henri Floury (handwritten in pencil repeated several times in the lower margin of the inset "QUOTE THE MENTION").
Well complete covers illustrated at the end of the volume, made by masters of the time (Toulouse-Lautrec, Alfons Mucha).
