Since 1927, Paul Eluard regularly stays in Catalonia. In this month of September 1929 spent with Salvador Dali in Cadaques, he met the poet JV Foix (1893-1887), figure of Barcelona's avant-garde, close to Joan Miro and Federico Garcia Lorca, translator and Philippe Soupault Pierre Reverdy. The two men decide to publish all the editions L'Amic de les Arts the first bilingual anthology of surrealist poetry. Announced in 1933 and then in 1934, it unfortunately never happen due to financial difficulties of the publisher.
