Half caramel calf bindings, smooth spines set with gilt and black fillets decorated with gilt friezes, black calf title and volume labels, joints with some traces of rubbing, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, contemporary bindings.
Work illustrated with a portrait of the author engraved by Ethion as frontispiece to the first volume but lacking its folding facsimile frontispiece to the fourth and final volume.

Handsome copy, complete in four volumes, uniformly bound by a contemporary hand.

Half bottle-green shagreen bindings, spines slightly faded with four raised bands set with triple gilt fillets decorated with compartments and quadruple gilt fillets, gilt friezes at head and foot, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, bookplates pasted on pastedowns, speckled edges, contemporary bindings signed by Corfmat.
Work illustrated with a portrait of the author engraved by Ethion as frontispiece to the first volume but lacking its folding facsimile frontispiece to the fourth and final volume.
