A rare complete set of this handsome publication with a total of more than 1,000 vignettes in text and complete with 122 woodcut plates hors texte of innumerable specimens, most heightened and protected with silk guards: 48 , 50 (49 heightened, 1 in sepia as frontispiece, included in the pagination) and 24 (partly heightened and gummed).
Volume III is more specifically concerned with orthoptera, neuroptera, hymenoptera and so forth, and shows the insects in their natural environment.
