Half black shagreen binding, spine with five raised bands elaborately gilt in compartments with gilt typographical motif, covers triple-ruled in blind on black paper boards, white watered silk endpapers and pastedowns marginally soiled, all edges gilt.
Work illustrated with numerous wood-engraved vignettes by Joliet, Thomas, Lacoste, Dupeyron, Ecosse and drawings by Yan' Dargent.
Some minor foxing, otherwise handsome copy.
