Edition illustrated with a portrait of the author as frontispiece to the first volume as well as 15 etchings hors-texte, one of 100 copies on Holland paper. Half red morocco bindings, smooth spines, gilt dates at foot, marbled paper boards, marbled endpapers and pastedowns, original wrappers preserved, elegant contemporary bindings signed by Carayon. A tiny scratch on one joint of the last volume, occasional light foxing without gravity affecting mainly the covers. Handsome copy beautifully bound.
