Autograph letter signed by Emile Goudeau addressed to his dear master (Francisque Sarcey, 16 lines in black ink) thanking him for his last letter which he reads with some delay and for his support in granting an award which he has just been honored with: "l'envoi de la lettre écrite par un Labadens exaspéré. Ce camarade (?) m'a fait passer un bon quart d'heure. Enfin cet infortuné lauréat ne me pardonne peut-être pas, d'être, lui tombé dans les hypothèques." ["the sending of the letter written by an exasperated Labadens. This comrade (?) made me spend a difficult quarter of an hour. Finally this unfortunate laureate perhaps does not forgive me for having fallen into mortgages."]
