Original illustrated edition, at the end of the volume, of 39 black reproductions of works by François Pompon and of a portrait by Petitjean. Pleasant and rare copy also illustrated, in frontispiece, of a portrait of François Pompon by Chana Orloff. A shadow affecting the guard on which the shipment appears as well as on the last guard. Beautiful autograph dedication signed by Robert Rey to the close friend of François Pompon Léon Deshairs: "... which is for such a large part at the origin of all this and which we see passing in these pages, I affectionately offer this little book, Robert Rey. Léon Deshairs has, at the end of the text and in pencil, added an obituary to his friend François Pompon who died in 1933: "Pompon died on Saturday May 6, 1933, at 5 am in the clinic of the Brothers of St. Jean de Dieu, rue Oudinot, where he was treated by Dr Marion.
