First edition, one of 400 numbered copies on alfa paper and reserved for the press service. Bradel binding in half indigo cloth, smooth spine somewhat faded decorated with a gilt floral motif, double gilt fillet at foot, black shagreen title label, marbled paper boards, original wrappers preserved, binding characteristic of those that comprised Henri Béraud's library. Precious autograph inscription dated and signed by Emile Zavie: "A mon cher Henri Béraud polémiste d'un grand caractère et romancier d'un grand talent, en souvenir des Morts lyriques..." ["To my dear Henri Béraud, polemicist of great character and novelist of great talent, in memory of the Lyrical Dead..."] Endpapers slightly and partially shadowed.
