Handsome autograph inscription signed by René Maizeroy to the writer of the preface, Guy de Maupassant.
Frontispiece etching by Kauffmann. Spotting. René Maizeroy was the pseudonym of the Baron René-Jean Toussaint, on whom Guy de Maupassant based the character of Duroy in the novel Bel-Ami.
