Publisher's binding in half burgundy cloth, smooth blank spine, sand boards illustrated with Maby's drawings, white endpapers have likely been changed.
Light scratching to the boards, four small tears on the last three coloured plates and one more significant tear on the page of text opposite the sixth plate, the illustrated title page includes figures that have been coloured by a child, which have bled through on the following white endpaper.
