Rare autograph inscription signed by Edward Lucie-Smith, in French, on the half-title page: "... si vous commencez votre connaissance de la poésie anglaise chez moi, j'ai peur que ça sera la fin en même temps que le commencement ! " ["... if you begin your knowledge of English poetry with me, I fear that it will be the end at the same time as the beginning!"].
